The support benefit is simply a form of financial support provided by the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS). The amount of this benefit will depend on the level of request for support, which will be determined and expressed in points in the applicable decision. It is worth taking a closer look at this fresh experience and realize the benefits it will bring for disabled Polish citizens.

Supporting provision is simply a state initiative to improve the quality of life of people with different types of disabilities. This means that people who meet certain criteria will be able to receive regular financial support. The amount of this support will not be fixed but tailored to the individual needs of each person, which represents an crucial step towards a more equitable and personalised approach to providing assistance.

Important changes are coming for many disabled citizens in Poland. As of 1 January 2024, a fresh support provision will be introduced to assist those who request support in partially covering the expenses associated with gathering their peculiar life needs.

It is worth noting that people who are 18 years old and have a decision setting the level of request for support on a scale of 70 to 100 points will benefit from this benefit.

This benefit will be granted at six different levels, depending on the degree of request for support:

1. 220% of the social pension is granted to persons with a support level of 95 to 100 points.
2. 180% social pension for 90-94 points.
3. 120% social pension for 85-89 points.
4. 80% social pension for 80-84 points.
5. 60% social pension for 75-79 points.
6. 40% social pension for 70-74 points.

It is worth noting that the social pension in 2023 is PLN 1588.44, which means that the highest support benefit will be about PLN 3500 and the lowest – about PLN 700.

It should besides be remembered that the introduction of this benefit will be gradual:

• As of 1 January 2024, persons with a support level of 87 to 100 points will benefit.
• As of 1 January 2025, it will be extended to persons with a support level of 78 to 86 points.
• On the another hand, from 1 January 2026 people with a support level of 70 to 77 points will benefit from it.

These changes are an crucial step in improving the situation of people with disabilities, enabling them to better support their life needs.
