The dispute took place in connection with the decision of the president on the appointment of officers in the Military Counterintelligence Service and the interior safety Agency. Nawrocki did not sign first-rank appointments for 136 future officers of these services.
Acute exchange of views on officer nominations
Let us remind you that Donald Tusk and Karol Nawrocki had previously clashed. According to the Prime Minister, promotions for young officers were blocked for political reasons. On Sunday (9 November), Jacek Dobrzyński first took the floor. In his entry he addressed the President's spokesperson directly.
"Please kindly note that a typical of the National safety Bureau, inviting the Head of the interior safety Agency to, as he called it, 'a briefing with the President', went on child's ease and, word for word, copied the agenda from the peculiar Services Commission meeting, which took place more than 2 weeks earlier," wrote a spokesperson for the peculiar Services Coordinator.
As Dobrzyński pointed out, "telling Poles now that your hastily calling the chiefs of service for a pseudo-consultation on promotions to the first officer's rank is no longer entirely valid".
Finally, he made an appeal to the Presidential Palace. "Stop lying and don't block promotions to officers who hazard their own lives, defender the safety of Poland and Poles all day," he wrote.
Nawrocki’s spokesperson answers
The answer of the head of state did not take long. "Mr. spokesman, you have long wondered how to 'cover' the scandalous and unprecedented situation of refusing to attend meetings with Mr. president of the Heads of peculiar Services. I'll worry you. It didn't work out," Leśkiewicz wrote.
He further recalled that during the scheduled meetings the subject of talks was to be safety and officer promotions. "So much for facts. Unfortunately, the heads of service ignored the President's invitation. present everyone knows that you are one more time utilizing peculiar services in a political fight against the president of the Republic of Poland. And the interest of the Polish State is at your end," he continued.
As the President's spokesperson pointed out, "this is funny, and Poles are worried, due to the fact that how should they feel erstwhile officials liable for our common security, for the political applause of their boss, ignore the president of Poland".
"By the way, the letter you are referring to has been signed on behalf of the president of the Republic of Poland by Minister Zbigniew Bogucki, and not as you say in your entry 'representative of BBN'," we read.
That's where it started. The affair between the government and the Presidential Palace
Tomasz Siemoniak, the Minister of peculiar Services Coordinator, referred on Friday to Nawrocki's words and commented that the president would not receive information from the peculiar Services. He stressed that the President's cooperation with the services was in accordance with the rules and that all information was provided in the applicable documents.
Rafał Leśkiewicz responded to Siemoniak's entry. He besides referred to Donald Tusk's words that promotions to officers were to be blocked for political reasons. He described it as "an embarrassing and lying stand-up".
As he stated, "facts are specified that for the first time in the past of the 3rd Republic, the Heads of peculiar Services did not accept the President's invitation to meetings concerning crucial matters related to State security". And he added that "the president was cut off from access to information."
"These meetings were besides intended to concern officer appointments. The president wanted to discuss his requests with the heads of service. Meetings did not happen due to the fact that the Prime Minister banned the acceptance of invitations from the President. Well, possibly he was afraid of what they would say to the president during meetings in private," he wrote.
Jacek Dobrzyński replied to this entry. "A spokesperson should not lie to Poles, my friend. The meeting's agenda did not foresee talks about officer nominations, as Minister Siemoniak clearly showed. Nevertheless, you proceed to engage in lying rhetoric, playing political games at the expense of officers who frequently hazard their lives, guarding the safety of the State and its citizens. Don't go down that road, I kindly advise," he said.
