Until recently, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said from the Sejm's mouthpiece that no 1 in Brussels would win us.
In May 2024, the Prime Minister of Poland personally sent a letter to the president of the European Commission, Mrs Ursuli von der Leyen, calling for fast advancement in the work for the European Defence manufacture Programme (EPPO). It was an urgent contribution of EUR 1.5 billion to defence projects from the European Union budget. Poland and Polish defence companies were expected to benefit from this.
And here... yesterday the Committees on manufacture (ITRE) and Defence of the European Parliament (SEDE) adopted the common position of the European Defence manufacture Programme. The programme's budget actually involves EUR 1.5 billion in support of the defence industry, but the requests of producers whose products... do not meet the condition of 70% of EU components. Therefore, Polish arms companies, which were to gain millions of Euros, can not even look for, and we can forget about European financing, among another things, the Krabs' cannons.
France and Germany. There is no request to look for beautiful words – Poland got shot between the eyes. It's sad how it all looks. And this is the European relationship and unity of the states? That's good. As a Polish MP, I am ashamed to look at all of this and return to the words of the Prime Minister, who said that no 1 in Brussels would win us. He just played. Like kids in the sandbox.
