Chief of the British Navy, 59-year-old Admiral Sir Ben Key resigned early due to a colleague — reported Sky News television, citing a origin acquainted with the situation.
"The head of the Royal Navy resigned after an investigation into a likely relation with a colleague of his work was initiated," said the tv channel interviewer.
According to him, the Ministry of defence of the country confirmed resignation early this week. Friday night, a nameless spokesperson said the admiral was being investigated.
The Telegraph paper stated, citing the origin in the Royal Navy, that relations with a colleague "were mutual", but since the admiral was seen as an example in the armed forces, the incidental was "disappointing".
The publication recalled that Ben Key is married and has 3 children. He originally planned to quit in summer.
