On Sunday (3 August), Kierwiński participated in a briefing with voivodes and heads of services. At that time, he told what the intent of extending border controls was to be achieved. It is about closing the migration way that has moved to Lithuania and Latvia.
"As you know, these controls were introduced for a month, but it will not be a large surprise, due to the fact that we said that we decided to keep this temporary control for another 2 months. On Friday, the applicable regulation was issued and was sent to the European Commission for notification," said the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration.
