Former president of the Vesna Medenica ultimate Court was sentenced to 10 years in prison in a conviction issued by the ultimate Court in Podgorica. This is 1 of the most crucial judgments concerning corruption in Montenegrin judiciary.

Medenica was arrested in April 2022 following media publication of encrypted messages listed between her boy and police officer Darko Lalovice, who allegedly organized the acquisition of cocaine and cigaret smuggling through the Adriatic port of Bara.

Her son, Milos Medenica, was besides sentenced to 10 years in prison.

On the news, Milos Medenica claimed his parent was aware of illegal activity and said that the group could number on her protection.

Prosecutors described Milos as the head of a 16-man criminal organization dealing with drug and cigaret smuggling and illegal force and applied for 20 years in prison and a fine of EUR 100,000 for both defendants. Eventually, Milos Medenica,He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Vesna Medenica denied all charges, claiming that she had never exerted any illegal force on another judges or participated in criminal activity.
