Apple and Meta are expected to pay hundreds of billions. European Commission punishes DMA infringement

On Wednesday, the European Commission imposed fines of EUR 500 million and EUR 200 million on Apple and Meta, the parent company Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, for violating the Digital Markets Act (DMA). This is the first EU punishment imposed on technology companies for violating DMA rules.
