— This is my last speech before the UN as president of Poland. I would like to take this chance to share my reflections after almost a decade as president of Poland,” said president of Poland Andrzej Duda at the UN.
— Peace through law — those were words that accompanied me in the UN arena and in the UN safety Council. all time I left Poland, I remembered that this organization should take care to preserve planet peace and security. Unfortunately, our experience shows how fragile they are,” said the Polish President.
— I have observed various conflicts and crises in Africa, the mediate East and Asia. However, I have besides seen the increasing Russian imperialism, which aims to destruct values. I remember the aggression against Georgia and the message of Lech Kaczyński, who said: “Today Georgia, next day Ukraine, and the day after next day the Baltic States, and then possibly it will be time for my country, for Poland,” he added.
— I knew that the attack on Ukraine since 2014 was the beginning of actions to destruct the global order based on law. It is about maintaining global law and order. Unfortunately, my assessments and predictions... have materialized. present I look back with satisfaction and relief on initiatives to strengthen the safety of Poland and Europe. Had it not been for them, the Kremlin could have conquered Kiev a long time ago and prepared for the offensive on Warsaw and the Baltic countries," the president pointed out.
Andrzej Duda on cooperation with the USA
— Speaking about global safety and cooperation, I am referring primarily to the relation with the US, NATO and the EU, as well as to the willing and reasoning countries of the United Nations. Polish relations with the US have a long history. They feature a monument to Kościuszko at the West Point Military Academy. We have achieved much over the years. quite a few memories come back. We remember the beginning of the American mission in Redzikow. (...) Talks with Donald Trump offer an chance to summarize efforts to strengthen the Polish-US partnership. Since the beginning of my tenure, I wanted Poland to be seen not only as a recipient but besides as a safety donor," said Andrzej Duda.
— We actively support regional agreements to guarantee peace. We've been NATO members for 25 years, which has guaranteed peace for 75 years. We are committed to peace within the UN, our activity in missions is an expression of that. Poland can boast a long tradition of participating in specified activities. Therefore, I personally decided to decision the Polish military contingent to Lebanon,” he noted.
“Since the first day of the war, we have said who is the victim and who is the aggressor”
— For the last 10 years, we have managed to intensify defence cooperation within the Bucarest format to defy Russian hybrid attacks, aggression at sea, as well as land invasions against Ukraine. From the first day of the war, we spoke about who was the victim, and who was the aggressor, and supported Ukraine, which defends itself against the neo-colonial politics of Russia," said Andrzej Duda.
— It has been a decade since the introduction of the Tri-Sea initiative. We have achieved a large deal with respect to the merger of northern and confederate Europe. It is now a region with a GDP growth projection of 35% by 2030 (...) Others see this, as shown by their cooperation with the US and Japan, which see the possible of the initiative. The Trimorze initiative will be held in Warsaw soon. I would like to encourage participation and investment in our region," he said.
“Poland has never imposed its views on anyone. What we did was talk, respect and support. (...) Poland has never been a colonial state and we are arrogant of it. This allows us to build lasting and friendly relations with African and Asian countries,” said Andrzej Duda.
“All imperial tendencies are abroad to us”
— I want us to remember the reason why the United Nations was established. Why is the law not respected by all, including a associate of the UN safety Council? The answer is one, insufficient chance to warrant these rights," he said.
“Wars are part of the past of humanity, but peace and the pursuit of building foundations for the preservation of this peace are besides part of humanity. For 30 years, erstwhile we left Russia... they are a period of unprecedented improvement and improvement of the lives of our citizens. From a backward country, we have become a highly developed country. present we are the 21st economy in the world. Our ambition is to join the G20. (...) In Poland we sincerely believe that only peace can supply conditions for development. Therefore, all imperial tendencies are abroad to us," he said.
