Following the successful debut on select European flights earlier this summer, this initiative marks the airline’s latest step in enhancing the customer experience through destination inspired meals.

Passengers traveling through major gateways such as Sydney (SYD), Auckland (AKL), Brisbane (BNE), Buenos Aires (EZE), Montevideo (MVD), and Santiago (SCL) can now enjoy meals that showcase the essence of local cuisines.

American Airlines New Menus

American Airlines is elevating its inflight dining by offering menus inspired by the regions it serves. The initiative focuses on high-quality ingredients, authentic preparation, and modern presentation.

By tailoring meals to each route, the airline delivers restaurant-quality dining that connects passengers to the culture of their destination.

The expansion applies across Flagship® Business, Premium Economy, and Main Cabin, ensuring that passengers in every class benefit from thoughtfully curated menus.

Oceania Routes

Starting this fall, passengers flying in Flagship® Business to Sydney (SYD), Auckland (AKL), and Brisbane (BNE) can expect bold flavors influenced by the Pacific. Dishes include:

  • Sweet chile sea bass: perfectly glazed, served with couscous, tender bok choy, and roasted carrots
  • Kona-crusted beef filet: a nod to island flavors, featuring sweet potato mash, sautéed kale, and a silky balsamic demi-glace

These meals highlight fresh ingredients, umami rich sauces, and modern takes on local favorites, reflecting Oceania’s culinary diversity.

South American Routes

On return flights from Buenos Aires (EZE), Montevideo (MVD), and Santiago (SCL), passengers will enjoy menus inspired by South American traditions. The offerings vary by cabin:

Flagship® Business

  • Pan-fried sea bass: crisp exterior, tender interior, paired with couscous and peperonata sauce
  • Mozzarella cappelletti: delicate pasta parcels filled with creamy mozzarella in a sun dried tomato sauce
  • Grilled tenderloin: flame seared, served with zucchini spaghetti (zoodles) and finished with puttanesca sauce
  • Grilled chicken breast: marinated, accompanied by charred vegetables and garlic mash

Premium Economy

  • Spinach ricotta cannelloni: stuffed pasta baked in a rich tomato sauce, topped with aged Parmesan
  • Grilled chicken breast: served with herb roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables

Main Cabin

  • Teriyaki beef ragout: slow braised beef in a savory sweet glaze
  • Cauliflower pie: a vegetarian option layered with spices and creamy béchamel
