It is lazy Sunday, Grodzka Street leading to the Kraków marketplace is filled with a multicolored crowd of people. Tourists, hikers, navigators, entrepreneurs hunting customers, handout flyers, sellers, ships, dancers, street players. It comes slow on the first afternoon and abruptly above the sound generated by the crowd there is simply a distinct sound of strange, non-nothing-like music. any cult of the Hari Kriszna species in their colorful costumes, with drums and another instruments, leads a several-person march through the heart of King Krakow.
I close my ears, in my head I refuse exorcism, with relief I only breathe erstwhile a strange, disturbing singing fades away. I break through the crowd to the marketplace plate, halt next to St. Wojciech's church. The police are already waiting in the distance, they appear moments after my arrival. Life defenders from the Life and household Foundation spread out the sound system, make flags, banners, distribute foundation vests. Short arrangements, assignment of tasks and we start another public rosary to halt abortion in Poland.
The group is not large, the number of gathered does not always exceed 10 people, but the prayer of the Rosary carries on the marketplace meaningfully. People respond differently, sometimes they just look, sometimes they grin with pity, sometimes they take a image of “wrecks”, sometimes they shoot a video, possibly they will make it available in social media with a comment. There are screams, jamming, but human pain is besides revealed, which is enclosed in questions about whether abortion after violent rape is besides condemned. individual shyly, standing side by side, joins the prayer, others approach closer, individual on the side of a life defender pushes a bundle of bills into his hand. Then there's the litany, a fewer words from the organizer about why we're here, and the end – by rubbing cold hands I can run for the tram. My throat is scratching, I can't feel my feet, but I'll be back in a period if my wellness and strength allow.
It is disturbing to me that even those declaring to be believing specified a prayer frequently arouses any strange, incomprehensible aversion, or at least cold indifference. Invitations to it are uncomfortable on net portals, sidelined in church cabinets with announcements. But the enemy knows what he's doing: capitulation, combativeness, discouragement of our fight brings him closer to winning.
Because this is simply a fight. Most important. The fight for our public space, in which if there are no bells, will scream muezzin, in which if there is no Hail Mary, there will be disturbing sounds produced by Hari Kriszna. There's no area for vacuum in public space, no specified condition. And the Hari Krishnas know that. What about us?
Why is praying to halt abortion so important? due to the fact that it touches the very heart of the conflict between good and evil, between God the Creator and his rebellious angel, the devil. God creates a fresh life, and the devil for this life lies, wants to bite the hand of God, who lovingly shapes man in the womb. He wants to halt the miraculous work of creation, he wants to strangle the miracle of life in the bud. What is more elementary, basic than life? Only a surviving individual can breathe, love, buy, vote, work, make works of art or culture, act socially or politically, yet receive baptism, and through it the grace of redemption and union with God. All another matters, all human choices, social and political problems are secondary to the question of whether the kid will live or die. All of them. And they're all a substitute for the social debate that the enemy of humanity is trying to average as he sees fit.
Today, not supporting abortion is not enough. Never kill an unborn kid is not enough. Not vote for abortion in the parliament, not sign the abortion bill is not enough. They lead the offensive, occupy space, decision boundaries. If we wait until the front comes to us to defend ourselves then – it will be besides late.
There's a silent fight going on with Mrs. Veronica, who warned another pregnant female about an abortion, who put on a doctor's suit and encouraged her to kill her own child. A female has been convicted, she threatens to be arrested, appeals to the Strasbourg Court, and president Nawrocki asks for pardon. It's a fight. Will the Court take her side, on the side of freedom of speech, normality, on the side of human life and truth? I don't know. Will president Nawrocki exercise his right to halt an abortion offensive on an episode controlled by him? Let us pray for this and appeal, due to the fact that president Duda, who besides received this request, lacked courage.
This is simply a fight, and believing otherwise is the enemy's action. Break down the fear, scope for the weapon you have at home, possibly chicken in a drawer, possibly you carry it in your pocket all day. Let the Rosaries to halt abortion become crowded, let the power of common prayer carry into public space. Don't let Veronica be alone due to the fact that she did the right thing, and her courage and determination can be a model for many of us.
