Ciprian Ciucu, National Liberal organization candidate (PMB),He won the election for president of Bucharest, gaining over 36% of the vote and becoming the fresh mayor of the capital of Romania.
His main competitor, extremist candidateAnca Alexandrescu's right hand was little than 22%.
The fresh mayor of the capital said that his expectations for the first year would be alternatively moderate, and possibly the biggest challenge would be to draw up a budget. He mentioned that he hoped to make any visible improvements, at least in the city centre, but crucial projects will take time.
The mandate of Cipriana Ciucu as president of PMB will last about 2.5 years, which is until autumn 2028. The reason is that the elections of December 7 were partial elections, organized to fill a position that remained vacant after erstwhile mayor of the capital, Nicușor Dan, was elected president of Romania in May. In practice, Ciucu will service as organization president only for the remainder of the current word (2024-2028).
