The head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs was a guest of the program "Groffiti" on Polsat News. He stressed that the situation was serious and needed decisive action. "Because this is happening in tiny space – I am talking about the confederate Baltic – it affects others too, so this is absolutely unacceptable," he said.
He added: "However, looking at the Russian-Ukrainian War, or looking at the Israeli-Iran War, it is simply a GPS signal, tracking, navigation, that become critical elements of these conflicts, and of course we must draw conclusions from it and guarantee the safety of our systems."
It was asked if Moscow could be behind these actions, the minister replied that "there is no uncertainty that Russia was involved." Tomasz Siemoniak added that the service has been dealing with this problem for a long time. They cooperate with authorities liable for air navigation and safety of the Polish space.
The head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs besides pointed out that specified incidents happen "too often" and cannot be underestimated. He stressed that this problem concerns not only Poland but besides our allies.
Problems with GPS signal over half of Poland
As we wrote in naTemat.pl, over Poland has been coming for respective days to mysterious incidents involving drones. The machines unexpectedly lose GPS signal and contact with operators, then fly off in unpredictable directions – often, if this happens on the coast, towards the Russian royal circuit.
The Finnish Border defender reported that only from the beginning of the year until the end of May there were 84 cases of GPS interference in the Baltic Sea – more than 3 times more than in the same period last year. The most common incidents occurred in the east part of the Gulf of Finland, in the immediate vicinity of the border with Russia.
Let us add that on Monday the Ryanair to Bydgoszcz was redirected to Poznań due to navigation problems.
