ISTANBUL— Turkish Airlines (TK) has launched a high-stakes, high-reward global travel promotion through its Miles&Smiles program. Travelers who fly to six different continents between June and October 2025 can earn a massive bonus of one million miles.
However, due to overwhelming interest, the airline has introduced an early booking requirement: passengers must have booked at least one eligible flight by July 8, 2025, to remain qualified. All flights must originate from or transit through Istanbul Airport (IST).

Turkish Airlines Six Continent Challenge
Turkish Airlines (TK), the world’s most connected airline, announced a bold promotion on June 27, 2025: earn 1 million Miles&Smiles bonus miles by flying to six different continents. The campaign emphasizes Turkish Airlines’ expansive network, which spans more destinations than any other carrier globally.
To qualify, travelers must fly on Turkish-operated flights—not codeshare or Star Alliance partner routes—and all journeys must occur between June 27 and October 27, 2025. Only arrival destinations count; transit and origin points do not contribute. Flights that terminate in Türkiye or Northern Cyprus are excluded.
Moreover, award tickets, promotional fares, staff tickets, and corporate bookings do not count. Bonus miles will be credited between November 1 and November 15, 2025, provided participants meet all eligibility rules.

New Booking Deadline Added Amid High Demand
Due to unprecedented interest, Turkish Airlines imposed a crucial update: only travelers who booked or flew at least one eligible flight between June 27 and July 8, 2025, will remain eligible.
This sudden limitation signals an attempt to control participation levels and likely reflects budget constraints within the airline’s promotional fund.
This new booking cutoff effectively ends the campaign early for new entrants, shifting focus to those who acted fast.

Is It Worth the Miles? Evaluating the Value
Earning one million miles may sound extravagant, but the effort required is considerable. Visiting six continents means booking six or more long-haul or intercontinental one-way trips. With Turkish miles valued conservatively at 1 cent per mile, this offer equates to $10,000 in reward value, or roughly $1,670 per continent.
Economy-class travelers may find the trip taxing, but premium-class passengers could find hidden value, especially if using miles to upgrade. Strategic flyers might already have two or three continents covered in routine travel, making the challenge more manageable.
However, travelers must account for positioning flights, visa issues, and availability. Additionally, Miles&Smiles has a strict 36-month expiration policy, giving members a limited window to redeem these miles.
Flying to Europe (LHR), Asia (BKK), and Africa (NBO) is relatively easy from Istanbul. However, adding North America (JFK), South America (GRU), and Australia (SYD) increases both time and cost dramatically.
These long-haul segments are more difficult to fit into a 4-month window, especially if avoiding fifth freedom flights and Star Alliance partners.
Therefore, this campaign disproportionately favors high-frequency travelers or those capable of committing to a global tour within a short time frame.

Bottom Line
Turkish Airlines’ six-continent mileage challenge is one of the most ambitious loyalty promotions in recent years. While lucrative on paper, the early booking deadline and travel complexity limit its practicality for casual flyers.
That said, for global travelers and status chasers already flying Turkish Airlines frequently, this could be an unbeatable opportunity to stockpile reward miles—if they acted before July 8.
