75th Anniversary of the Schuman Declaration in the Shadow of European Totalitarianism

On May 9, 1950, French abroad Minister Robert Schuman presented a plan to build a community of Western European states in order to warrant peace, economical development, and – later – respond to the threat from the communist bloc. The main goal was to present Germany with an offer that would make it unprofitable for them to start another war. respective decades later, however, they departed from Schuman's thought and committed aggression, but economic, political, and ideological.
