The European Commission imposed penalties of EUR 700 million on Wednesday – 500 million on Apple and 200 million on Meta, the parent company Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. The penalties concern violations of the Digital Markets Act (DMA) and are the first EU imposed on technology companies for violating the DMA rules.
