Outgoing president Joe Biden has utilized his discretion to commute the sentences of 1,500 people who were serving sentences under home arrest. He besides pardoned 39 people convicted of nonviolent crimes, AP reported. The president said he will proceed reviewing the clemency petitions in the coming weeks. It is the largest specified act of clemency granted in a single day, the agency noted.
