"Food from South America does not meet standards". The president of Law and Justice is responding to the EU-Mercosur agreement

“The Mercosur case threatens Polish agriculture, but it besides threatens the wellness situation of the full society, due to the fact that it is known that food from South America does not meet the standards we are utilized to”, said PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński, commenting on the EU Council’s approval to sign a trade agreement with Mercosur countries. The erstwhile Prime Minister warned against the “completely devastating crisis of Polish agriculture” and accused Donald Tusk of manipulating the Mercosur deal.
