Roger Penrose is 1 of the top minds of our time. A physicist, a mathematician, a philosopher. I love listening to Him on youtube, even though I barely realize anything :-).
The RP suggests that according to quantum physics consciousness does not die with brain death. I quote: “When people enter a phase called "clinical death", microtubules in the brain change their quantum state, but hold the information contained therein. So the body is decomposed, but not the information, or "soul." Consciousness becomes part of the Universe without dying.”
