They wanted to take care of their health, frequently paying quite a few money. Unfortunately, they found impostors who filled the capsules with a mixture they invented. Police broke up a home mill in Krakow, where, as the investigators established, products of known brands were falsified and sold online.
A 43-year-old man and his partner were detained to lead the business from the end of 2024. Their “business” consisted of perfect copying of first supplements – from packaging to the appearance of capsules. In fact, however, there were accidental mixes of inexpensive ingredients, sold to customers as branded preparations for even a fewer 100 zlotys. The production was carried out under conditions which degraded any hygiene standards – without sterileness, utilizing average kitchen equipment. Investigators do not regulation out that the capsules were besides contaminated, including animal hair.
Although it is initially indicated that only placebo could be utilized for ‘supplements’, chemical studies will be crucial. They will show whether consumers have been exposed to serious wellness effects.
Hundreds of components and about 300 ready-made parcels waiting for shipment were secured at the home in Podgórze Kraków.
