The real avalanche of applications flooded the Social Insurance and Agricultural Social Insurance Fund. Over 1 million Polish seniors submitted papers for the granting of a fresh benefit, known as widow’s pension. The scale of interest exceeded the boldest predictions, showing how much this change was needed. Most importantly, ZUS did not wait and the first money went to eligible accounts on 1 July. This is 1 of the largest and most expected reforms of the pension strategy in fresh years, which will truly improve the financial situation of hundreds of thousands of households throughout Poland. The end of the painful choice between his own pension and the benefit of his late spouse became a fact.
An avalanche of applications flooded the offices. The scale of interest has exceeded expectations
The numbers talk for themselves and clearly show the scale of the needs of Polish seniors. The Social Insurance Institution itself received 916 000 applications The widow's pension. But that is not all. Farmers besides massed off to KRUS facilities, where another 121,000 papers were submitted. In total, the number of applications across the country exceeded 1 million, which amazed even officials preparing to implement the reform. The evidence interest confirms that, as before, the system, which forced 1 of the benefits to resign, was injurious.
The analysis of geographical data shows that the problem concerns the full of Poland. The leader is Mazowieckie state with more than 105 1000 applications. This is not only due to the large population, but besides to the higher cost of living, which makes each additional goldfish very important. The interest was besides evident in the ministry's pension systems:
- Department of Pension and Pension Ministry – 5.6 1000 applications.
- Military Pension Office – 3.5 1000 applications.
- Prison Pension Service Office – over 500 applications.
Such a immense number of applications are a clear signal to the government that the fresh form of support was absolutely crucial to ensuring decent surviving conditions for those who lost their spouse.
ZUS accelerates payoffs. When's the money going to the elder accounts?
Faced with specified a gigantic interest and awareness of the urgent needs of seniors, ZUS has decided to velocity up procedures. The first payment of widow’s pension started on 1 July, which is highly crucial for hundreds of thousands of people. Importantly, officials began transfers even before the formal sending of all administrative decisions. This action shows knowing the seriousness of the situation – for many pensioners, all day of waiting for additional funds is simply a real financial difficulty.
How will this work in practice? Seniors don't gotta take any extra steps. The money will automatically enter their bank accounts or will be provided by the postman within the same time limits within which they have received their basic pension benefit. The strategy was designed to be as least burdensome as possible for beneficiaries. Payments will be carried out successively, in accordance with the timetable for payments to individual recipients.
A fresh widow's pension mechanism. How precisely does the combination of benefits work?
The fresh government introduces a revolutionary mechanics that ends with absurdity forcing seniors to choose: either their own pension, or their household pension after their deceased spouse. From now on it is possible to combine both these benefits, which straight translates into a higher amount in the portfolio. The rule of operation is simple and based on a model "100% plus 15%".
A elder who has acquired the right to widow’s pension can choose a more favourable option for himself. Receives one of the benefits (higher) of the full amount (100%)and the second benefit is paid to him at 15% of its value. It is the widow or widower who decides which benefit is to be primary and which supplemental.
Practical example: The widow receiving her own pension of PLN 2,500, whose deceased husband had a survivor's pension of PLN 2000, had to choose 1 so far. Now he can hold his full pension (PLN 2,500) and add 15% of his husband's pension (15% of PLN 2000 = PLN 300). Her monthly benefit will so increase to PLN 2800. This means an additional PLN 300 per month, i.e. 3600 PLN more per year.
No more painful choice. What does the fresh pension mean for Polish families?
The introduction of a widow's pension is more than just a change of regulations and extra money. This is above all an act of social justice, for which Polish elder citizens have been waiting for for years. The strategy to date has been seen as exceptionally unfair due to the fact that it de facto "punished" people for years of work and the payment of contributions by both spouses. The request to quit part of the life after the death of a loved 1 was a painful and incomprehensible experience for many.
The fresh solution restores the sense of dignity and financial security. For hundreds of thousands of people, especially women, who frequently had lower pensions due to breaks in work related to kid rearing, widow's pension is simply a real rescue against poverty. Additional respective 100 PLN per month These are measures that can be allocated to medicines, better quality food or fees, which have increased dramatically in fresh years. This improvement is simply a step towards building a more solidarity and empathic pension strategy in Poland.
