The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) reminds all parents who want to benefit from ‘Actively in the nursery’ benefitsto make an urgent request to January 2, 2025. Only then will it be possible to get compensation for the period from October 2024. After this date, the compensation for erstwhile months will be lost, so it is worth taking care of timely submission of documents.
Active Parent – who can benefit from the aid?
“Actively in the nursery” benefit is part of Active Parent Program, which took off on October 1, 2024. This programme aims to support the parents of children attending childcare facilities up to 3 years old. In this program parents can receive monthly benefit to cover part of the cost of childcare in nurseries, children's clubs and daily caregivers. The condition is that a care facility or a caregiver is located in Register of nurseries or list of day-careerswhich is the basis for applying for support.
What are the deadlines for applying for benefits?
According to the legislation, to get a benefit for October 2024the parent must submit the application at the latest by January 2, 2025. This is simply a key deadline, due to the fact that after that time, the benefit will not be granted for earlier months. For persons who apply after that date, the Social Insurance Institution will grant the benefit only for the period in which the papers were delivered.
From January 3, 2025 Applications for benefits will be accepted for 2 months from the minute the kid starts attending the nursery. This means that parents can receive a benefit on current month, but they will not receive compensation for earlier periods if they apply 2 months after the start of the child's attendance at the facility.
Amount of the active benefit in the nursery
The amount of the benefit under the strategy depends on various factors, including the wellness condition of the child. The standard benefit is PLN 1500 per month, but for children with disabilities the amount of support increases to 1900 PLN per month. This amount is intended to cover the costs of childcare that attend childcare institutions.
It is worth noting that the programme besides provides for the advanced limit of tallness nurseries feeswhich may not exceed PLN 2,200 per month. If the fees in the facility exceed that amount, the institution shall be excluded from the ‘Actively in the nursery’ grant process.
Where to apply for benefits?
Applications for the ‘Actively in a nursery’ benefit may be submitted in ZUS on a specially prepared net platform or straight in ZUS facilities. In addition, detailed information on the submission of applications and any papers required are available on the ZUS website. ZUS recommends that applications be submitted as shortly as possible, especially in the context of the upcoming deadline on 2 January, so as not to lose the right to compensate for the months of October, November and December 2024.
Can any kid receive a witness?
The ‘Actively in a nursery’ benefit is intended for parents of children who attend legally registered nurseries, children's clubs or are provided with care daily caregivers entered on the list approved by ZUS. It is crucial that the establishment or maintainer comply with certain standards and are included in the applicable registers. The programme aims to support parents who want to supply professional care to their children during their first years of life and to facilitate their return to work.
For many parents, the Active Parent programme is an chance for additional financial support during a hard time raising young children. Submission of an application to January 2, 2025 is crucial to receive compensation for October, November and December. After this date, the benefit will only be paid for the current months.
