Attorney General Waldemar Żurek announced the continuation of investigations into irregularities in the number of votes during the 2nd circular of the presidential election. The Minister of Justice stressed that he "clearly" told Prime Minister Donald Tusk about the necessity to bring all proceedings to an end.

"I mean, it's not gonna be like erstwhile the president was elected, we're gonna close our eyes and say we don't care about the vote of these voters anymore. We care due to the fact that all voice is important" - said Żurek in the Wednesday program "The strategy Closed" of the portal Goniec.

The Head of Justice pointed to the differences between the results presented by the State Election Commission and the prosecution's findings. "When we have a different consequence on the PKW websites, and the prosecution now counts votes in a given committee and there is simply a different result, the citizen does not realize why this correct result, recalculated respective times in the investigation, is not to enter the results of the elections presented by PKW" - said the minister.

Scale of investigations carried out

According to Żurek, 19 investigations are conducted together on possible irregularities in election committees. The Minister reported that wherever citizens pointed to "very crucial errors" that could affect the result of the election, the votes were recalculated and the results sent to PKW.

"The investigations will continue, but I believe that these (election) commissioners should be cancelled. due to the fact that they are to watch over what they did not see," he noted. "I asked the Minister of the Interior to go to PKW to cancel these people" - added Żurek.

Examples of detected irregularities

As an example of irregularities he recalled 1 of the Krakow electoral commissions, in which the vote was to be reassigned to candidates. "All this has escaped the commissioner. It may have escaped, but we besides have cases where we have detected intentional forgerys and there are already allegations presented" - added the minister.

The National Prosecutor's Office presented in late July the detailed results of the investigation into irregularities in elections. The examination of voting cards shows that Karol Nawrocki should have received 1538 votes little and his competitor Rafał Trzaskowski should have received 1541 votes more than indicated in the authoritative results.

In 250 verified Nawrocki committees, he received a full of 48,473 votes, while Trzaskowski received 43,709 votes. Meanwhile, according to Nawrocki's electoral protocols, he was to receive 50,011 votes and Trzaskowski 42,168 votes.

Analysis of problem scale

Two thirds, i.e. 166 regional electoral commissions surveyed, found no discrepancy between voting cards and protocols drawn up. 1 3rd of the committees examined, i.e. 84 committees, found "certain irregularities" of different character.

The most serious irregularities detected were the reverse attribution of votes to both candidates - this was found in 16 committees. In total, the miscalculation of at least part of the votes cast in Trzaskowski for Nawrocki was recorded in 42 committees and in 34 committees at least part of the votes cast in Nawrocki was wrongly attributed to Trzaskowski.

The Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs of the ultimate Court in early July stated the validity of Nawrock's election as president. More than 54,000 electoral protests were received by the SN - 21 of which were considered legitimate, but without affecting the result of the election.
