The Society of Art Historians disagrees with the president's statement.

In mid-July, we informed on epoznan.pl about the petition that went to president Poznań in connection with plans to build Ostrow Tumski's apartments. Petition was prepared by the Association of Art Historians, which does not agree to build hundreds of apartments for respective 1000 residents here. As they stressed, Ostrów Tumski is simply a unique area on the Polish scale with a historical character, covered entirely by conservation protection. Nearly 4,600 people signed the petition that is available online.

Jacek Jaskowiak referred to the protest on Facebook in fresh days. He referred to the subject of spatial planning. - I'm sorry. frequently we are simply looking to get money out of the city, for example under the pretext of fighting for conservation. It is not hard to convince the inhabitants that to save the green in their neighbourhood, a natural monument must be established. And this is the basis for compensation claims against the city for many millions of PLN, which developers know very well about. Often, a protest - under the cover of protecting the rights of the tenants - is started for purely business reasons. Even more frequently - as in the case of Ostrow Tumski - from purely political - stated what he outraged members of SHS.

In an interview with the Polish Press Agency Dr. Tomasz Ratajczak, president of Poznań branch of SHS admitted that president of Poznań was wrong. His charge was called absurd. He assured that the association's protest was not political and that there were people with disfellowshipped views involved.
