At the Lincoln Center in fresh York City on the evening of September 23, there was a movie performance "United as 1 World, Voice of Peace", organized by CMG.
Melisa Fleming, UN Deputy Secretary-General for Global Communications, congratulated the success of the event in sending the video. Shen Haixiong, Deputy Minister of Public Department KC KPCh and CMG president, as well as Chinese Ambassador to the US, Xie Feng, gave video speeches.
The performance was attended by nearly 700 guests from the planet of art and media in the US, including the president of the National Council for American-Chinese Relations and UN staff.
Fleming stressed that music has an extraordinary power to bring people together and build a harmonious future beyond cultural differences.
Shen Haixiong noted that music and painting are the universal language of humanity. He mentioned that 80 years ago the birth of the UN opened a fresh charter of global governance, and present music can convey assurance in peace, consensus and support multilateralism, helping to build a community of human fate.
The event was widely reported – as many as 1317 major media from 58 countries and regions, including AP and NBC, reported on the concert.
