On Tuesday, March 17, a judgement was handed down in the case of Zbigniew Ziobra and Agnieszka Holland. The Warsaw territory Court found that the politician violated the individual property of the manager and was obliged to print on the platform X apology with this content:
"I, the undersigned Zbigniew Ziobro apologize to Agnieszka Holland for repeatedly violating her individual property, in peculiar her name, honour, individual dignity and artistic creation by comparing her and the movie 'Green Border' directed by her to the activities of the propaganda of the 3rd Reich and Stalinism and another criminal regimes by accusing her of moral crime and utilizing another shameful and stigmatizing terms. Zbigniew Ziobro".
Ziobro will pay large millions in Hungarian currency...
In addition, the court ordered Ziobrze to transfer PLN 50,000 to the Holocaust Children Association. As we know, the erstwhile minister does not want to face the Polish judiciary on irregularities in the Justice Fund (the prosecution accuses him of moving an organized crime group). He is presently in Budapest, where he has received political asylum.
So, by converting this PLN 50 1000 into Hungarian forints, which escaped to Budapest, the Law and Justice policies now turn on a regular basis, comes more than HUF 4.5 million.
Let us remind you that the dispute between Zbigniew Ziobra and Agnieszka Holland began in the fall of 2023. At the time, the Minister of Justice powerfully commented on the director's movie "Green Border", which covered the migration crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border.
In 1 of the entries on the X platform, the politician even suggested that Holland was inspired by propaganda methods utilized by totalitarian regimes. "In the 3rd Reich Germans produced propaganda films showing Poles as bandits and murderers. present they have Agnieszka Holland for this" – the post of Ziebra sounded.
Holland first issued a message and then went to court...
Holland wasn't going to keep it quiet. In the message she demanded an apology and a deposit of PLN 50,000 to the Holocaust Children's Association. The manager stressed that if Ziobro did not meet her expectations, she would be brought to justice in court. And so it did.
"It takes quite a few bad will and a complete deficiency of moral principles to see something different in 'Green Border' to compare it with Nazi propaganda. I'm going to defend myself against specified wickedness. (...) After the seven-day deadline for the execution of the obligations outlined in the call, I will apply to the course of judicial proceedings" - she announced.
Holland sued Zbigniew Ziobrze for the protection of individual property. The manager concluded that comparisons to Nazi and russian propaganda violate her dignity, good name and artistic creativity. Ziobro in consequence to these steps claimed Holland had "exceptional nerve" and accused her of "insolence". He besides denied that he would not apologize to her. But now he'll have to.
