There are quite a few decent people in the ranks of the services whose pacification of refugees doesn't work. At least this is what the writer “Election” Adam Wajrak says.
– This is not a monolith doing blunt orders of blunt power. There are any common sadists in the service, driven by propaganda, who execute stupid and cruel commands with singing on their lips. There are opportunists who will follow these orders. But there are those who sabotage them. Either they aid refugees, or they just turn around. It is said that many – especially soldiers – see the border crossing, take to lace their shoes. They're stringing up all the troops and patrols. Good exists even in a very bad country.
