Referendum questions concerned, among others, the elimination of border barriers, the adoption of illegal immigrants and the forced relocation mechanics imposed by European bureaucracy. The reaction to this thought was negative, he was considered a disgusting decision and hoped to prove ineffective. He was criticized for manipulating his tongue, comparing it to Orwell's style. It was besides pointed to the lie contained in 1 of the questions which tries to blame the European Union for the current situation.

The issue of the barrier on the border, which cost over PLN 1.5 billion, was besides discussed. Despite the advanced costs, it has been noted that the barrier is not effective in deterring migrants. 2 of the 4 questions afraid the border, which suggests that the government may effort to usage this subject for election purposes.

The protagonist of the movie Green Border wonders why the European Community has not responded to the deaths of at least 20,000 people who have died in the Mediterranean since the 2015 crisis. The consequence points to the fear of destabilising the Union by excessive presence of migrants and winning populist parties. However, there is no counter-narration and no thought to tackle migration.

The situation on the Saudi border, where border guards shoot Ethiopian refugees, is recalled as a possible script for Europe. The referendum on migration issues is seen as electoral manipulation, and social consent to what is happening on the east border of Poland is translated by racism and selection of people based on origin, colour and religion.

According to Holland, racism is considered a global problem, not just a Polish problem, with the example of Tunisia, which for money from the European Union stops migrants from Sub-Saharan Africa.

The basic question is: does the crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border have a chance to end? The inhabitants of the region are skeptical. This mostly depends on Belarus and Russia, which control the flow of refugees. Without their consent, encouragement and manipulation, refugees would not have made it there.

The migration channel, which enabled people to scope the European Union for $3–4,000, seemed a miracle. But now they're profiting from gangster states and mob guides, while desperate people take advantage of all way they can escape.

Border guards are trained according to Holland to see refugees as “living missiles”, which dehumanizes them and allows for ruthless treatment. The crisis is seen both from a geopolitical and moral and humanitarian perspective. The circumstantial lives of people are behind this crisis: their dreams, feelings and pain. The movie about this crisis was created in consequence to a sense of work and a desire to show the fact about the situation.
