As Volodymyr Zelenski said, Ukrainian air force with anti-aircraft defence units, mobile groups, fighters and unmanned aircraft intercepting this multi-system structure.
The president of Ukraine indicated that during Russia's fresh attack on Ukraine, the opponent utilized 810 Russian drones. Of which 700 were shot down by this multi-system structure. He stressed that it was a crucial number.
Zelenski about Russia's possible attack on Poland
Zelenski in the further part of the interview stated that if there was a possible attack on Poland by Russia, our country "will not be able to save people". These words fell in the context of comparing events and their scale.
– This can be compared to the situation in Poland, for example. This is not a message to our Polish friends – they are not at war, so it is understandable that they are not ready for specified things. But even if you compare 810 and we shot down over 700, and they had, I think, 19 drones and shot down four. They had no rockets or ballistics. And of course they will not be able to save people if there is simply a massive attack," said Volodymyr Zelenski.
He besides added that Ukraine could train military from partner countries that had supported them from the beginning in defence of the Russian attack.
Russian drones in Poland
The Polish airspace was breached on Tuesday night on Wednesday 10 September. On command of the Operation Commander of the Armed Forces Types, defensive procedures have been launched. The objects that were considered the most dangerous were destroyed.
It was expected to be a twelve objects. There was besides a circumstantial number of 19 Russian drones. However, the head of the President's global Policy Bureau, Marcin Przycz, reported that the drones were to be 21.
– The military, as I realize it, is looking for everyone who fell in Poland, or was knocked down. According to our information (the border – ed.) exceeded 21 drones," said the Radio Zet.
As we wrote on Temta.pl, Volodymyr Zelenski reacted shortly after these events. "Today there was another phase of escalation – Russian-Iranian shahedy operated in Poland's airspace, NATO's airspace. 1 shahed could be called an accident, but these are at least 8 impact drones aimed at Poland. An highly dangerous precedent for Europe," wrote the president of Ukraine.
He then appealed to strengthen sanctions against Russia and jointly act against Putin's troops' aggression. This subject has late been addressed by European Commission head Ursula Von Der Leyen in an interview with US president Donald Trump, which can be read more here.
