Volodymyr Zelenski can go to Budapest for peace talks, but does not consider the Hungarian capital to be the best place for specified negotiations. The president of Ukraine powerfully criticized Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban for blocking aid to his country.
"Because we are talking about peace in Ukraine, not elections in Hungary. I do not think that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who is blocking Ukraine everywhere, can do something affirmative for Ukrainians, or at least something moderate" - said Zelenski in a conversation with journalists.
Terms for peace talks
The Ukrainian leader defined the conditions under which he would accept the gathering in Budapest. "If I am invited to Budapest, if it is an invitation in the format of a tripartite meeting, or a touring diplomacy, in which president Trump meets Putin and then me, we will come to an agreement in 1 form or another" - he noted.
Zelenski powerfully stated that Ukraine would not let Russia to leave the war as a winner in any configuration of talks. "Even erstwhile you think you are in a dead end, he is not so blind. And secondly - you should never do anything incorrect with your own home" - he said.
Position on global pressure
The president of Ukraine stressed that his country would not bow down under pressure, even if it was applied exclusively to Ukraine. "If there is simply a configuration in which America is in the middle, there is 1 story. But if it's a deal where the force only falls on Ukraine, no one's going to win. We will not win the Russians" - he noted.
Zelenski accused Vladimir Putin of treating Russia's resources as private property. "Putin cooperates with the United States, having large economical proposals and resources of a country that does not belong to him, but which he uses as his private property" - said the Ukrainian President.
According to Zelenski, the Russian leader has to offer "large territories, immense energy projects, a large number of companies sanctioned". At the same time, he assured that "no 1 would deal with the sale of Ukraine".
