The European Union's agreement with the Mercosur countries should be returned as it will have far-reaching effects on the people of Poland, but besides on another EU countries. At the same time, it is good to realize how the Union works and in whose interest it is that this agreement is concluded and signed. It can aid us learn lessons from Poles and prepare for different scenarios.

Politicians indicate that there are no mechanisms to counter the effects of this agreement. Of course, this agreement should be appealed to the TEU, but it can besides be foreseen that this body will find that everything is fine. What's left?

The European Community erstwhile stood up for agriculture in its countries and opposed agriculture from the countries of Central Europe. As a result, if we remember, there were much little subsidies for Polish farmers.

Firstly, it is essential to convince Polish people to buy Polish food. This will not be easy, due to the fact that products from South America will be cheaper. However, social campaigns should show the benefits of buying food on the local market. Otherwise Polish farms will disappear. And erstwhile the food costs of Mercosur are gone, they'll increase. It should besides be borne in head that food imported from South America will should be protected from deterioration (sea transport) by various chemicals, so quality will be worse. Will we give farmers a chance to feed us?

On the another hand, the script of Poland's functioning outside the EU should be prepared. There's no telling how this organization will turn out. On the occasion of the Mercosur Agreement, there are elements of disintegration, and any believe that the European Union may break up. I don't think this script will work. We must be prepared for the situation erstwhile we are forced, or we will choose to operate outside the EU. Politicians should make specified scenarios so that it is not very painful for Polish society.
