On 15–18 October, the Territorial defence Army held a radio-telephony utility-fighting competition. It was the 3rd edition of this event, and the host of this year's competition was the 10th Świętokrzyska Brigade of Territorial Defence. Nearly 90 soldiers representing OT brigades from all over the country participated in the competition
The WOT radio-telephony utility competitions are a form of checking the level of training of specialised soldiers and combining applicable training with elements of sports competition. This year's competition took place in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodship – participants were accommodated in Kielce and competitions were held in Świętokrzyskie Mountains. The competition was attended by 21 four-man teams representing 19 WOT brigades, a command battalion and a WOT Training Centre.
Practical part – tactical loop
On the first day of the competition, soldiers competed on a tactical loop – a march on orientation with specialist tasks. The teams were divided into 2 categories: low power UKF backpack radio station, low power KF backpack radio station.
Participants travelled more than 20 kilometres in length, carrying out tasks including: establishing communication with the main station, confirming the correspondent's identity, sending alarm signals, transmitting coordinates utilizing GPS, compiling and transmitting reports, sending graphic files.
The march was based on topographic maps with marked checkpoints on which instructors prepared tasks. The routes led from Witosławic and Saint Catherine, and the meta was located in fresh Słupi.
Second day – shooting competition
On the second day, the players faced squad shooting. Each of the four-man teams performed a series of shots from different postures: kneeling, from behind the iris, standing and on the march.
The competition was conducted at the shooting scope in Dobrowa, and its organization was held by instructors from 10 ŚBOT.
Summary and results
On the last day of the competition, during a formal gathering at the office of 10 WBOT in Kielce, medals and trophies were presented to the winners.

This year's WOT radiotelephony competition confirmed one more time the advanced level of training and engagement of soldiers of the Territorial defence Army. Competition, combining elements of tactics, communication and combat efficiency, was not only a test of skills, but besides an excellent chance to exchange experiences among specialists from all over the country. The advanced level of organisation and demanding competition stressed the importance of professional preparation of soldiers in the area of communication – crucial for effective operation in all conditions.
