


A hundredth birthday is always a beautiful and touching event, but in this case especially crucial to our city. Antoni Jasiewicz joined the distinguished group of centennials, who can besides boast the title Merit to the City of Stargard. On the day of his peculiar birthday, president Rafał Zając visited. There was no deficiency of cordiality, wishes, congratulations and gifts.
– Mr Antoni is an extraordinary figure for so many reasons. He built Stargard with commitment for decades. I utilized the day of his 100th birthday to thank him for everything he did for our town, but besides for the full country. Antoni Jasiewicz stood up for Poland as part of his soldier's service without hesitation. Later, in calmer times, he was highly active in shaping young generations and in communicating historical truth. possibly he should be a model of love for us for the household he founded here, but besides for the tiny homeland he worked for with dedication. A real hero – says president Rafał Zając.
Antoni Jasiewicz is from the village of Dwojlince (today belonging to Lithuania) located in Kresy. In 1941, he became active in conspiracy activities during the russian business of Vilnius. 2 years later, he joined the Home Army. By the end of planet War II, he fought both German and russian occupiers. In 1945 he took the name Adam Jasinski. Antoni Jasiewicz came to Stargard in 1949 with a changed identity. In 2005, he was promoted by the Minister of National Defence from lieutenant to captain. For many years in free Poland, he initiated actions to commemorate unbreakable soldiers, including educating the youngest generations in the spirit of patriotism. In 2020 he was awarded the Stargard City Medal
Four children, six grandchildren and 4 great-grandsons were privately born, and shortly another great-grandson will be born.
