Invitation to the historical Club gathering - Thursday, 27.02 p.m., 5.30 p.m.

I invitation on 27 February at 5.30 p.m. to the Association of Polish Journalists (Warsaw, 3/5 Foksal Street) for another gathering of the Historical Club. This time we will hear a lecture on “Italian Ways of Poles to Independence”. We will learn the historical relationships of Polish elites with Italy: from Queen Bona through Renaissance inspirations in the art and learning of Poles at Italian universities. We will besides learn about the creation of Polish Legions in Italy and the first march of Polish soldiers to the Homeland. Then we will hear how Polish units formed in Italy at the end of planet War I, which we most frequently know small about.
And the lecture will end with the communicative of the 2nd Polish Corps of General Anders and the conflict of Monte Cassino.
Our guest will be a prominent expert of the topic, who has been organising expeditions of Poles to Italy for many years - Adam Siwek - manager of the Bureau of Commemoration of Combat and Martyrdom of the Institute of National Memory.
