We invitation you to a documentary show combined with a gathering and a conversation, during which we will look together at 1 of the most crucial questions of modern times: does war truly start erstwhile the first bombs fall? Or much earlier – from propaganda, political decisions, the inactivity of the planet and signals that nobody wanted to see?
During the event we will watch the movie “Casus belli. Why this war?", telling about the mechanisms of Russian aggression on the example of the war in Georgia in 2008 and events in Ukraine since 2014. This is simply a communicative not only of geopolitics and leadership decisions, but above all of average people whose lives have been forever changed by the drama of war.
The movie features unique, previously unpublished material from conflicted areas: photos from Russian business of Georgia, documentation of Odessa's first days of fire and a fresh interview with erstwhile Georgian president Mikhail Saakashvili before his return to the country and arrest.
The paper includes, among others, Mamuk Mamulaszvili – the creator of the Georgian Legion, Gen. Roman Polko, Małgorzata Gosievska and witnesses and participants of events from Poland, Georgia and Ukraine. The movie besides recalls president Lech Kaczyński's attitude towards the Russian attack on Georgia, and poses a question that present is peculiarly strong: have we had warnings for years?
After the screening, we invitation you to discuss and reflect on whether past truly warns those who want to listen.
