"Registers of the Red Army Officer" - performance 17.09
date:12 September 2026 Editor: Editorial
On 17 September at 6:00 p.m. at the Education Centre of the IPN „Historia stop” at 21/25 Marszałkowska Street in Warsaw you can see a performance performed by the Polish Studio Theatre from Vilnius, showing russian propaganda in a curved mirror. Free!

Grotesque, fear and deficiency of same - thinking
The script of the show is based on 1 of the most crucial novels by Sergei Piasecki. The main character, the younger lieutenant Mikhail Zubov, enters the territory of the Second Republic with the Red Army troops. A man carries in his head a hateful, ideological image of the world, implanted by the Stalinist propaganda machine.
"Registers of an officer of the Red Army" is primarily a intellectual image of a typical typical of the russian mentality in Stalinist times. Self-thinking is alien to him, and his action is based on obedience to the Bolshevik ideology, fear and hatred of imaginary “burly” enemies. The clash of russian primitiveism with culture, prosperity and tradition of the inhabitants of Vilnius forms the foundation of a superb grotesque.
The performance directed by Sławomir Gaudin is an uncompromising, bitter satyr for a totalitarian strategy and russian indoctrination. It discovers the painful fact about the business of the East Borders, while at the same time being able to amuse to tears and profoundly terrify.
More than a decade of success and painful currentity
The Polish Theatre Studio in Vilnius presents this title invariably for 13 years. The show gained designation of viewers and critics both in Lithuania and Poland. As the authors emphasize, over the years and in the face of contemporary geopolitical events in east Europe, Piasecki's text gained an additional, strikingly current context. The staging is not just a lesson of past about 1939, but a universal informing against the destructive force of state disinformation and imperialism.
