The Confederate press conference attended by Deputy Marshal of the Parliament Krzysztof Bosak and associate of Przemysław Wipler.
Krzysztof Bosak:
– Today, on behalf of the Confederacy, we express our position on an effort to amend the EU Treaties. It is now in the European Parliament that the vote which is to take place today, on the proposals made by Euro MPs from the centre and left-wing factions to change the treaties of the European Union and turn it into a superstate. Centralizing, introducing this dream of building Euro-Federalism.
The position of the Confederation is very clear here: no further centralised European UnionOh, my God! The erstwhile transfer of competences to Brussels was a serious mistake, resulting in a weakening of the position of associate States, including Poland. What we see is the next phase of the long-term process, the stimulated process, the process introduced by the Eurocrats, who want to make from a full set of associate States 1 political organism, 1 alternate to the associate States.
We were against the Lisbon Treaty, which together through Polish institutions was conducted by PiS and Platform politicians! We were opposed to the transfer of competences to Brussels by the government of Mateusz Morawiecki. We are talking about authorising Brussels to implement a budget policy, previously reserved for the governments of the associate States, on matters specified as borrowing or levying taxes, as well as changing the way EU money is allocated in the form of accepting the rule of "money for government." We are besides opposed to the Polish State entering into any deal on the further centralised European Union.
Let us remind you that these proposals, which are voted on present in the European Parliament, which have the basis for launching the authoritative process of preparing fresh treaties - these proposals are intended to abandon the rule of unanimity in the European Union Council votes in 65 different areas! 2 fresh exclusive competences are to be created* of the European Union in the field of environment and biodiversity. And the extension of shared competences is to take place in 7 areas, core areas for the existence and safety of all associate States, namely abroad policy, safety policy, border protection, civilian defence, health, manufacture and education!
As a Confederate, we will never agree to specified things and We call on the Polish government to give a very clear signal at the beginning of this process that it will not enter into specified negotiations. This appeal is addressed to both the current government of Mateusz Morawiecki, who, in our view, has not made it clear so far, and the earlier shift of budgetary powers to Brussels, made by Matthew Morawiecki, can encourage Eurocrats. This appeal is besides addressed to the future government, which wants to jointly make the Civic Platform, the Left, PSL and Poland 2050, to give a clear view that they do not agree to these Treaty changes, and will not participate in their negotiations.
