A joint Polish-German patrol of Border defender officers from Świecka stopped at the A2 tira motorway, which was traveling in hiding 21 illegal migrants. Together with them, a Belarusian citizen was detained, who helped them.
Border defender officers, conducting road control in the A2 motorway area, retained the Iveco truck on Lithuanian registration numbers. The truck was headed by a 33-year-old Belarusian citizen who had a regulated stay in Lithuania. It turned out that 21 foreigners (17 Syrian citizens, 3 Iranian citizens and an Iraqi citizen were hiding in a specially constructed compartment (behind a double wall). They did not have papers authorising them to enter and stay in Poland. In the light of all of them, proceedings were initiated for an work to return. Until we decide to leave our country, Syrians were supervised by the SG, while another foreigners were placed in 1 of the guarded centers for foreigners.
The vehicle driver was detained and temporarily arrested. He heard the charge of helping foreigners to effort to cross the Polish-German border. In addition to Belarus, an undertaking to return was initiated. For assisting him in crossing the state border contrary to the rules of cooperation with others, he is facing imprisonment until 3 years.
