In early November 2025, the editorial board of the independent Russian service Proekt published 1 of the most extended researches of the modern Russian power elite. A squad of journalists and analysts, in cooperation with
Rupep.org and the Protocol, for over a year analysed about 10,000 biography of officials and their relatives. Companies registers in Russia and abroad, Rosreestr and perpetual books, passport and financial base leaks, pre-censor archives, and talks with erstwhile officials, officers and businessmen were used. The goal was to find who the people ruling Russia were, what function household origin plays in their careers, relations with services and business ties – and what they effort to hide from society.
