Since the Russian annexation of Crimea in 2014 and the outbreak of conflict in the east of the country, the Ukrainian armed forces have been undergoing a dynamic process, for the capabilities of that country, of upgrading and restoring potential. It was mainly implemented by national industry, although Ukraine was besides supported by Western states (including Poland) headed by the US, both providing technology and training Ukrainian soldiers.
