From the ORP “The Lightning” to the Tour de Pologne

Great pursuit next to the ORP “Split”

Tanks, transporters, launchers...

The presentation of teams competing in the 83rd Tour de Pologne aboard the ORP "Sleep" is not the only military accent of this year's national race. In respective cities and towns where cyclists will start or finish stages, static military equipment shows will be an attraction. In Gdynia, fans could see closely, among others, the K2 tank, the wheeled armored transporter Rosomak, the self-propelled mortar Cancer and the armored vehicle with increased opposition to MRAP mines from the 16th Mechanized Division, and the vehicles of the far designation of the Viper from the 9th Reconnaissance Regiment. At the finish of the first phase in Koszalin, a static military equipment show was organized by the 12th Mechanized Division, which exhibited: a self-propelled anti-aircraft rocket set Wasp, an anti-aircraft artillery-racite set ZUR 23-2 KG and a self-propelled anti-aircraft rocket set Poprad.

Tomorrow at the finish of the second phase in Szczecin, 12 DZ will present a wheeled armored transporter Rosomak and a self-propelled mortar Cancer, and 5th Armoured Engineering Regiment with increased opposition to MRAP mines. On Wednesday, the cyclists will take the way from Gorzów Wielkopolski and there in the military region you can see Rosomak and Cancer from the 11th Armoured Cavalry Division and the Langust rocket launcher from the 5th Regiment of Artillery in Sulechów, which is part of the 12th DZ. The same military equipment as in Gorzów will be available in Zielona Góra, where the 3rd phase of the race will end.

On 6 September, the cyclists will launch from Żagania, where a static military equipment show is prepared by the Black Division. The audience will be able to watch Leopard 2A5, Rosomak and Cancer. At the finish line in Karpacz, the 11th Armored Cavalry Division will exhibit Rosomak and Cancer, and the 5th Artillery Regiment – Langusta. The 5th phase will start in Opole and at the Main marketplace Square of the Center for Training of Engineering and Chemical Forces in Wrocław will present bombardment robots and a multi-tasking wheel vehicle with advanced mobility HMMWV. The sixth phase with the start and finish in Bukowina Tatrzanska will be accompanied by a military region in which you can see a light reconnaissance vehicle of the Iguanus exhibited by the Nile Military Unit and a light reconnaissance vehicle of Aero from the 6th Airborne Brigade.
