The written general cognition test, the interview, the evaluation of leadership predispositions and the physical fitness test – this was the way the recruitment for the "Sonda" sub-office course in the 6th Mazovia Territorial Defence Brigade. 34 soldiers will participate in the first this year, and in a full of the fifteenth edition of “Sondy” fulfilling the dreams of the corps of enlisted officers.
The intent of the qualification is to reliably check the military cognition of candidates and their physical fitness. The culmination and summary of these 2 stages is the interview, during which candidates present their motivations, attitudes and predispositions to execute command functions.
A full of 37 candidates submitted for the course. 34 soldiers of the 6th Mazovian Territorial Defence Brigade will yet participate in the spring edition of the course. – The aim of the qualification was to choice soldiers with leadership predispositions and possible for further improvement in the corps of sub-commissioners. Before the course participants requiring a period of training to prepare them for difficult, challenging, dangerous but besides a origin of satisfaction. Instructors will make all effort to guarantee that after the course each of its participants is ready to act as a sub-commissioner of the Polish Army – says elder Petty Officer of Command, elder Staff Ensign Krzysztof Lao.
The training will run in 2 stages and will take respective weeks. The first phase will be self-learning on an e-learning platform, where participants will get the essential theoretical knowledge. In the next – stationary stage, the candidates at the sub-commissioners will make their leadership skills in practice, improve teamwork skills and prepare to effectively act as leaders in their sections.
– all soldier who chooses to take a challenge and take part in a junior training course shows his ambition and willingness to bear greater responsibility. The function of Section Commander requires not only cognition and skills but besides character and leadership capabilities. I am convinced that the soldiers starting the "SONDA" course will meet these requirements and will effectively command their subordinates in the future," emphasises Commander 6 of the Mazovian Territorial Defence Brigade, Colonel Witold Bubak.
For the participants themselves it is besides a chance to make and get fresh competences.
"SONDA" sub-office course is simply a training task carried out by the Command of the Territorial Defence Army. The programme includes, among others, the learning of command section, the methodology of conducting training, the planning of tasks, the management of subordinates and the accounting of the tasks assigned.
Soldiers of the Territorial defence Army from the Private Corps, who have served for at least 1 year, may apply for the course, have a minimum average education, a very good professional opinion and approval of the superiors. The completion of the course is 1 of the key stages on the way to taking over as Section Commander and promotion to the rank of corporal.
