The Bluetooth locator marketplace has long been divided by a wall into 2 camps: Apple and Google. Although the way for universal devices wiped out last year ChipoloXiaomi is the 1 who's going to spread the standard at a deadly price. The coming “Tag” will service both networks, and costs as much as 2 coffees (in a good cafe).

According to WinFuture, Xiaomi will shortly enter Europe with its first global locator with BHR08SPGL code designation. The device has already appeared in the offer of French stores at a price of 17.99 EUR (approx. 75 PLN) per piece.

One keychain, 2 systems

The most crucial feature of Xiaomi Tag is support for both Google Find Hub and Apple Find My. So far, this solution has fundamentally been offered only by Chipolo (in the 2025 Pop model). The problem is that the competition proposal is an expenditure of PLN 140-160. Xiaomi enters the marketplace with a product half cheaper, which can make Tag the default choice for “mixed families” where iPhones and Androids are utilized in 1 home.

What's missing?

The low price forced 1 compromise, besides known for cheaper versions of competition: the deficiency of UWB (Ultra-Wideband). This means that the locator will not handle the precision tracking function per centimeter (with the view of arrows on the screen). We will gotta trust on the location on the map and the sound signal.

Unofficial specifications in the pill:

  • Thickness: 7.2 mm.
  • Battery: removable CR2032 (year of operation).
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.4, NFC.
  • Price: approx. 75 PLN (vs approx. 150 PLN in competition).

Xiaomi has not yet announced the authoritative release date, but the leak suggests a debut in the coming weeks.
