The Chinese leader announced his readiness to "enhance strategical coordination on global and regional matters" in order "to stand together to defender peace in the region and global equality and justice".

Meeting at the highest level

North Korean Prime Minister Pak Thae Song met with Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang, who stayed in Pjongjang for a visit. According to KCNA, the gathering was held as part of a visit by the Chinese delegation to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Korea Labour Party.

Pak assured of "strong support" for Beijing's policy on key interests, "including Taiwan". He stressed the will of "common opposition to hegemonism and the defence of a just global order", and Li expressed his willingness to support each another in the multilateral arenas.

Warming relations

Recently there has been a crucial warming of relations between Beijing and Pyongyang. Kim was next to Russian leader Vladimir Putin the most crucial guest during the grand military parade in Beijing on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the end of planet War II in the Far East.

During the gathering on this occasion, Xi and Kim undertook to step up cooperation and bilateral exchange. Last week Xi sent Kim a letter of congratulations on the 80th anniversary of the Korea labour Party.

Economic outlook

As reported by the South Korean agency Yonhap, the economical exchange between Pjongjang and Beijing can take on pace. Both countries aim to normalise relations and resume high-level contacts after years of stagnation in economical relations.

This process may be demonstrated in September after 5 years of land border crossing for postal services between these countries. According to PAP, the Chinese delegation left Pyongyang on Friday after the celebration ended.
