Soon a fresh temporary exhibition devoted to the past of Polish photographic technology and industrial design.
In June 2026 an exhibition will be held at the National Museum of Technology in Warsaw START I – means go! Polish cameras, devoted to the past of Polish photographic technology and industrial design. The exhibition will present exceptional cameras, lenses, flashes and accessories from the collections of the National Museum of Technology and private collections by Grzegorz Mehring and Mariusz Onlyk.
Among the presented objects will include a uncommon prototype of START I camera, as well as a rich collection of Alfa and Alpha 2 cameras produced by WZFO in Warsaw. Their distinctive colorful enclosures and modern form have made them 1 of the icons of Polish plan of the 1960s. The exhibition will besides show KORONA and FILMA cameras from the interwar period, 19th-century constructions with Adam Prażmowski lenses, cameras and PHOS Varsovie lenses, as well as unique prototypes. Experiential and uncommon structures specified as Fenix microscopic photographic kits and PZO stereoscopes will besides take a peculiar place. The exhibition will tell not only about the past of photography, but besides about Polish method thought, aesthetics of everyday objects and the dream of modernity.
