GLSDB rockets (Ground Launched tiny Diameter Bomb), presented by SAAB on MSPO 2025 in Kielce, are actually the "normal" GBU-39B SDB I (Small Diameter Bomb Increment I) aircraft bombs weighing 110 kg. However, they are not dropped by an aircraft, but carried into the air by rocket engines from "earth-ground" M26 caliber 227 mm (used, among others, by M142 HIMARS and M270 MLRS systems). This resulted in a comparatively inexpensive solution, which, through the usage of existing and proven elements, was created very rapidly and without greater risk.
