In a fresh survey of United Surveys for Virtual Poland, respondents were asked the question: "How do you measure the presence of Ukrainians in Poland, including how they integrate into society?".
So Poles justice the presence of Ukrainians in Poland
In the latest study, 52.7 percent of respondents assessed the presence of Ukrainians in Poland positively, including 5.5% "agreementally positive" and 47.2 percent "more positively".
In turn the answer "negatively" indicated 37.0% of the questions asked. In this, 16% indicated the option of "decreasingly negative", and 21% more negative". On the another hand, 10.3% of those asked answered "I don't know/hard to say".
A affirmative attitude towards Ukrainians prevails among voters of the ruling coalition (KO, PL2050, Left and PSL) - 62 percent. 32 percent of them are negative.
In the electorate of PiS and Confederacy, 49 percent of respondents indicated the consequence "positively. On the another hand, 40% of respondents gave the other answer. Among the another voters, the situation is even. After 41 percent of respondents evaluated the presence of Ukrainians in Poland positively and negatively.
A clear trend is growing
This question was asked besides in earlier polls, September 2023 and early 2025. In the first study, the percent of affirmative responses was 64.4 percent and negative 29.5 percent. In January 2025 it was 55.3 percent affirmative and 33% negative.
This means that after 2 years the percent of affirmative assessments of relations with Ukrainians surviving in Poland decreased by 11.7 percent points. On the another hand, the percent of negative assessments increased by 7.5 percent points.
According to Dr. Jack Kucharczyk, president of the Institute of Public Affairs, politicians are primarily liable for the negative trend. "This language of resentment towards the Ukrainians, which is primarily spoken by the Confederate, later took over the Law and Justice, then it actually spread to the full political class," he said in a conversation with the portal.
He besides recalled that during the presidential run candidate KO Rafał Trzaskowski proposed that the 800 plus benefit be paid to those Ukrainians who work and pay taxes in Poland. The expert argues that, among another things, specified rhetoric "has contributed to the conviction that Ukrainians live at our expense".
He further pointed out the "disinformation campaign" supported by Russian bots and pro-Russian bloggers. – At the moment, social media is shaking politics, and we cannot defend ourselves against it. Russian disinformation directed at Poland focuses mainly on sticking wedges between Poles and Ukrainians," said Dr. Kucharczyk.
The survey was carried out from 28 August to 1 September 2025 on a example of 1,000 people by CATI&CAWI method.
