I'M SORRY

This furniture I saw with my own eyes respective times. He stood in the north wing of the Presidential Palace behind a large transparent wall from the Plexiglas. He was met by everyone who came to conferences organized in this part of the most crucial building of the Polish state. all time I saw him, I was shocked at the questions: “What is this damn part of crap doing here? Why is he here? What's he expected to commemorate? What – symbolize?!”

He took up quite a few space, but that wasn't the most crucial thing. His sight struck with the memory of the terrible individuals who sat by him. The scale of the lies that fell on him. The size of the fraud he faked. And the disappointed hopes of tens of millions of people believing that the arrangements made by him are aimed at the good of them and the good of Poland.

Who sat with him almost thirty-seven years ago? The invitations were sent by the chief of the Communist panic apparatus. As he read his beginning speech, I stood in front of the TV. I followed the direct transmission by listening to his words, staring at the screen. On the TV's screen, black and white, but seeing the white card held by the hands of this russian torturer, I had the impression that they were dripping with bright red blood.

So who was invited to the circular table? Most of them were public or half-public officers of the communist regime. These half—the people of power were openly “delegated to an episode of the Church.” The owners of the People's Poland in their resources always had such. In full spectrum – from highly cynical agentry, through “princes – patriots” and collaborant organizations – supposedly Catholic to creatures by themselves and any others considered as expected “opposition”. At the circular table, the most celebrated ones besides sat. But the problem is that they are not who they claimed to be and what they were known for. The most crucial of them, honored with the Nobel Prize, the president of Solidarity was not truly any leader, but led on the esbek leash the most valuable asset of russian occupation. respective people besides sat at the circular table, even though it is commonly known – with an identity not rather clear. However, the more we learn about their real identity present – the more grim it looks. It was besides at a circular table, not just a few, but at most a fewer people truly good will and with the most noble goals. any – they did not full realize what would be approved in this cycle. due to the fact that everything, most importantly, has yet been established before – it is already the most apparent of all. Others, aware of all the horror of the “circular nativity scene for reptiles”, decided to dirty their own hands and résumés to do anything good for their homeland. What was the result? Well, it's kind of lame.

The sessions of late winter and spring 1989 were the most spectacular chord of alleged systemic transformation. Kila years later prof. Witold Kieżun began writing his celebrated book "Patologies of Transformation". I know her, and even though she contains quite a few accurate and accurate analyses, I find the basic thought contained in the title of this work to be completely wrong. In my opinion, the pathology of systemic transformation was not – none. These were not any pathologies – it was the most apparent and intended – effect. specified as the largest looting of Polish national assets in all Polish past (except for years of war and occupation). The top wave of migration abroad – “for bread” (again – after years of war). The largest (in all years of peace) operation of the fight against Polish national consciousness lasting decades, the top war declared Polish identity, cognition of the native past and culture. The “round table” is besides the creation of a “world into a pack”, in which the heroes were cast into the function of condemned mediocre people and the financial elite were started by hordes of bandits fattened on the plunder of Poland. And frequently on killing Poles. The consequence is simply a full inability to search justice in the most apparent cases and punish criminals. These criminals are the biggest of them. That is – effective displacement of the moral spine of the nation. All these are not "transformation pathologies". It's the very essence of this transformation that's been nailed at the circular table. And even those thousands of Warsaw, Łódź, Krakow buildings, taken over on the basis of expected wills of expected owners, whose average age at the time of their writing was 138 years – this is no "pathology of transformation". This is besides 1 of the most apparent consequences of this model of systemic transformation, which was signed at the circular table.

A twelve years ago, I talked to 1 of my first underground associates about what happened in 1989. A well - educated economist in the economy who knows how fewer people, who have worked in business for decades, and who has read analyses, amazed me with the question: “Do you remember those of the SB who interviewed us? There were thousands of them. Would you then like to stand up to an open fight against those monsters for which killing our families would be little than spitting?” After a minute of reflection, I replied: “ Assuming you are right and that we have avoided a large bloodshed and that after decades we have even begun to go up economically – it is not our full economical success that is the fruit of round-the-clock transformation. He was achieved the POMIMO of the then adopted transformation model. And should we even talk about any success if Poland is moving towards the failure of its statehood today? Won't we lose her? Will Poland survive? Will it hold – independence?” To this question my friend – the economist only nodded with understanding. Which meant, “I don’t know. possibly not...’ And today, in the wake of the transformation model adopted at the circular table, the failure of independency is very close...

I am far from mystic tendencies, but there are objects and places that I always feel very clearly hostile to a man. It shocks me in execution rooms like the Rakowiecka prison. Or like the grave of the commandant of the Wroclaw Gestapo, present nursed as “a memorial of the erstwhile Breslau”. I felt the same spooky aura always at this "historic circular table". The 1 where the impunity of the oppressors was forged, where for the pro-Soviet nomenclature the trampoline was launched to the list of the 5 100 richest (because the most impunityfully robbed) citizens of our country. The 1 where the declarations were as slanderous as the 1 about "courts that will purify themselves."

It is simply a good thing that president Karol Nawrocki yet throws out this ghastly, ugly, ominous and cursed furniture for Poland. Let all the ghosts associated with him go with him!
