As prosperity increases, the level of aspirations of young people, which do not include the desire to have children - says Prof. Julian Auleytner in an interview with the portal "Fakt". He adds that it is akin in another EU countries. "Recalculation in the sense of life goals choices takes over the emotional life, over the desire to have children," adds the scientist.
RECLAMA
See the video 800 plus on the baby - a lot or not enough?
The money for all kid in the household was expected to help, and it came out, as usual.
The 500 plus program was created as a tool to fight fertility decline. The thought was good, parents were to receive extra money for all kid in the family. Politicians hoped that the guaranteed transfer to the account would convince women to have children. After all, in 2016, the Law and Justice Government argued that the benefit would reflect the demographic trend, and forecasts assumed that nearly 382,000 children would be born in 2024. But it did not. The inheritance, alternatively of growing, is dropping dramatically.
Prof. Julian Auleytner, economist and originator of the concept of providing for families with children, emphasizes that it was a social programme from the beginning, not a demographic program. In his opinion, it was the Law and Justice that "accomplished the doctrine of expanding fertility without justification", and after all, additional money was expected to have a real impact on the fight against household poverty. According to a specialist, the greater the prosperity, the more the aspirations of young people grow, and the desire to have children goes further. This is not only happening here, but besides throughout Europe.
So could the increase in resources have a somewhat impact on the fight against demographic decline? Additional 1000 PLN for each child? How about a one-time payment for having a baby?
This cannot be solved by money. Women do not want to be treated instrumentally as homo oeconomicus. It is simply a liberal concept that assumes, increase productivity by applying economical incentives. In case of increased fertility, this does not appeal. Moreover, this offends women and the subjectivity of children themselves. They don't come into the planet due to the fact that Mommy got an economical boost in the form of cash
- emphasizes Prof. Julian Auleytner in an interview with the "Fact" portal.
How can low fertility be corrected? Here's the idea.
Every year less and less children are born, and as it turns out, the rulers have no thought how to remedy this problem. This isn't about extra money. I'm not convinced of that. I have 1 kid and I don't want another, and there are many reasons. From the social ones, due to the fact that we live in a rented apartment, due to the fact that it's more complex, like the approach of society. Women are due to give birth, but erstwhile they're born, no support. You have no help. You are left alone with everything - noted in an interview with our portal Ania, the parent of six-year-old Ignasia.
- I have 1 kid and there won't be another, though I feel large about being a mom. Why? The first issue is the inability to choose how to give birth. I wanted a C-section, and I truly had a lot to do to get it. That's how I avoided labour trauma. But the stress itself caused by the approach of medical personnel, who simply refuse to perceive to their mothers' voice and respond to their needs, has put a dense burden on me, says Ola, Oliwiera's mother. "I think the next issue is the deficiency of general external assistance. The full household erstwhile supported mothers in kid care, and I don't even have the time to usage the bathroom on my own, due to the fact that my husband works late, and my grandmothers and grandparents don't want to get involved.
So what could improve the current situation and affect fertility? According to Auleytner, the only real way to get out of a demographic collapse is to accept migration and open up to young people from abroad. - Demographic collapse will take as long as multiculturalism is not accepted, that is, acceptance for the settlement of young people from another countries in Poland - he explains "Fact".
