On 13 January 19,5 million Taiwanese will elect a fresh president and 113 deputies. This choice may depend not only on Taiwan's political direction (the Republic of China), but most likely besides on its future, as force from the People's Republic of China is systematically increasing. Without a shadow of exaggeration, it can be said that the upcoming elections have been the most crucial since 1996, erstwhile the Taiwanese first took part in their history, thus leaving the authoritarian government for decades. It is so no wonder that the elections are closely watched by the Chinese and Americans.
