The 2025 presidential election is getting closer. What are the beginning hours of the polling stations?

shortly there will be presidential elections in Poland. With the deadline approaching, there are less and less unknowns about voting organisation. The rules clearly specify the time erstwhile citizens will be able to make their choice. In exceptional cases, derogations from the rules adopted are permitted.

The first circular of the 2025 presidential election will take place on 18 May. If no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the vote, a second circular is scheduled. Any overtime involving 2 politicians with the best results will take place on 1 June.

The vote shall take place in regional electoral committees. Pursuant to Article 39, paragraph 2 of the Electoral Code, this process should take place without interruption from 7:00 to 21:00. After that, only those who arrived at the premises before the closing hr have the chance to vote.

In the case of fire, failure, evacuation or intervention of the service — voting may be interrupted, extended or postponed. The decision shall be taken by the Circuit Electoral Commission with the agreement of the Higher Commission. If the ballot is interrupted, the ballot box shall be sealed.

In utmost cases, for example in the event of a natural disaster, it is besides possible to reduce the working time of the electoral premises. The National Election Commission is then required to inform citizens of the situation and to indicate alternate means of voting.

Voting abroad. Even the day before

The vote will besides take place outside Poland and on ships flying the Polish flag. Places abroad should be open between 7:00 and 21:00 local time.

Where compliance with this framework would consequence in the termination of the vote after its closure in the country, the vote shall be held a day earlier. This applies, among others, to the countries of North America, including the USA and Canada, where the election will take place on 17 May 2025.

Not all individual entitled has to vote in individual at the polling station. The anticipation of correspondence is provided for persons:

• with a judgement of average or considerable disability,
• who were 60 years of age at the latest on the day of the vote,
• subject to quarantine or isolation.

An appropriate request, available on government websites, is required.
